HOUTBOUW is aimed at professionals with an interest in wood and hybrid construction. Driven in part by the energy transition and nitrogen-related issues, building codes, bidding requirements, and legislation are forcing conscious choices in methods and materials. With these objectives and the construction challenge serving as catalysts—but also driven by raw material scarcity and considerations from a health and well-being perspective—the share of wood in construction is growing.
Nevertheless, there is still a great deal of innovation, renewal, and rethinking required before we can speak of structural growth in its application. The level of expertise in the Netherlands will also need to experience a growth spurt. The HOUTBOUW trade show helps facilitate this.
